Big O poems Feb. 10, 2005

Unfinished Tales
TS Tharp / Ada
O Bearers ( Of Primula and Onóno )

Long ago there was a noble lady, Primula, who watched over a Fellowship of friends in a land called The LOTR Fan Club.
Those that loved her gave her a sign, of honor, for her watchful eye and caring for this land.
The symbol was likened unto a large eye, thus O
As time and people changed in this land the symbol became legend, and legend became myth, and some things were forgotten. Then a shadow fell upon this land, the shadow of a rather tall Half-Elven man called Onóno Laivindur, who was beckoned there by an Elf-Maid called onóne. The people called him Big O, and his symbol was thus ~O~ ;-{>
A large O with out stretched arms and a winking face, mustached, and grinning.
Little did Big O conceive that there once had been, before his coming to this land, from the wooded forests by the sea, another, who was identified by the big O.
One day this secret was shared by the first bearer of the O, with Onóno, and he was humbled and honored to carry The O as the second bearer. He was so humbled in his heart that he sought out another name that friends would identify him by, and thus, Ada became his name, and this name brought with it love and respect, for Onóno was of high years and opened his heart, as a father, towards all that knew him.
Primula with her care and nurturing spirit would have all things grow, in knowledge and grace. She bestowed upon all, even Onóno, wisdom and learning and increased her favor with all peoples of this undying land.
And the peoples of Middle-Earth thanked her in many ways, each to their gifts and talents.
As for Onóno Laivindur, Ada, Big O, he gave back to her the gift she helped awaken in his being, Poem and Song.
After years had passed, only one still held fast the name of Big O, perhaps because she also was an O Bearer, and they continued steadfastly as friends unto this day. Primula and Onóno a friendship worthy of remembrance.

Of Primula and Onóno
( O Bearers )

Big O, I was called in days past
Now Ada’s my name evermore
Remember me and raise your glass
Big O, I was called in days past
A name only Prim now holds fast
As I bow and walk to the door
Big O, I was called in days past
Now Ada’s my name evermore

by; ada

comments

Close call

Saved by the bladder.....
2am I rose to the call of nature and smell a burning plastic smell.
Opened my bedroom door and recoiled.
Moving to the living room there was a White-Grey cloud coming from the kitchen.
I couldn’t inhale. The rice cooker was on a hot burner on the stove, melting.
I turned off the burner.
Started opening windows, doors, and turning on fans.
Choking, not able to inhale and made it out the back door.
Held my breath, ran inside, grabbed the rice cooker that Tina had come out and placed in the sink, and took it out side.
I went upstairs to check on Michelle and Eli and thankfully the smoke did not get upstairs.
Tina took the dog and stayed in her car while waited for the cloud to dissipate.
I went in kitchen trying not the breath while I took a metal spatula to scrape off the melted plastic from the stove top. Then used a sponge and dishwashing soap to scrub the remains of the plastic off trying to save the burner.
Leaving the windows open, fans running we went downstairs to sleep with the dog at the feet on a couch. Trudie shares well.
Woke up at 6am and started cleaning and got some frebreeze to help with the smell. Eyes and sinuses burning somewhat.
6:30 pm still smells but tolerable and the wall and curtains and rugs and pillows have been washed.
Michelle has moved the rice cooker to the back of the stove top and it push against a knob turning the burner on high.
We we’re lucky.

comments

Thankfulness

Today will be precious to me, all of my days.
To be able to help along with the Fellowship
Of Middle Earth Boards. A special home for so
many Ringers over decades.
I am humbled, thankful, and quite ready for another
Adventure 🦋

comments

Well I’m Back

The world has changed
I am returning to you now at the turn of the tide
The Year at least and feel poorly for being a poor
Correspondent.
The news about the Boards is troubling me
Because I fell from the true Spirit of the Fellowship
For the social media that became available
In this I allowed myself to over react to politics
And things that caused me to lose some dear friends.
I mourn such loss.
I have tried to abstain from worldly matters and
Return to literature and Historical enjoyments.
I hope my friends of old would forgive my error
and once again allow me to join their Fellowship
I hope to help in maintaining the boards in any way possible
and pledge to fund such if allowed for years to come.
To message me feel free to use my number
503-887-4794
I welcome any reply.
Love Always

comments
